AB540 and Undocumented Student Center Changes Its Name to Undocumented Student Resource Center

For the past 10 years, the AB540 and Undocumented Student Center has served as a supportive space for undocumented students to find resources, connection and joy. As the center continues to expand its resources and impact, we discovered that the name and graphic element no longer resonated with the evolving immigrant rights movement, campus advocacy and values of the students we serve.

This initial callout is to bring all the graduates together to start planning this memorable event. 

World Relief Sacramento: DACA renewal workshop Wednesday, February 27th 2019

World Relief Sacramento is hosting another DACA renewal workshop at our office on Wednesday, February 27. Because of the exhaustion of state funding, we can unfortunately no longer cover the $495 renewal fee for clients, but we can still assist in completing renewal applications, providing a legal review, and submitting applications for income-eligible individuals. Flyers are attached.

Parent Leadership Institute

CRLA Foundation, La Familia Counseling Center, WEAVE inc., and United Latinos through the FUEL program will be hosting a Parent Leadership Institute.

The purpose of the Parent Leadership Institute is to empower undocumented, immigrant, and refugee families through education and resources that they can share back in the community

There is a pre-screening/intake individuals must complete if they are receiving a consult with an immigration attorney, we encourage families to register as soon as possible before the event.

UC statement on 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision on DACA

The University of California applauds today’s decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that keeps in place the injunction preventing the Department of Homeland Security from ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. The court’s decision ensures that the 800,000 beneficiaries of DACA will be able to retain or renew their grants and continue to legally work, study, serve in the military, and live in the United States. The university encourages all eligible recipients to renew their DACA grants immediately.

World Relief Sacramento: FREE DACA renewal workshop 10/16/18

World Relief Sacramento is hosting another FREE DACA renewal workshop at our office on October 16, 2018. We have 20 slots available and are able to cover the $495 renewal application fee for income-eligible California residents. We will be assisting individuals with DACA expiration dates between now and January 2020. Individuals with criminal histories should call us to set up an appointment outside of the workshop at (916) 640-2624.
