How to make a Verified ICE Report

Use the "CLEAR" Method:

  • C - Count: How many agents or officers did you see? How many vehicles?
  • L - Location: What is the exact address, intersection, or specific location? Which direction are they heading?
  • E - Equipment: What equipment do they have? What insignia or letters are on their uniforms? ie. Homeland Security Investigations, CBP, ERO, Police.
  • A - Actions: What are they doing? Have they detained anyone? Are they conducting interviews, searching, or making arrests?
  • R - Record:  What exact time did you witness the activity? Are your able to take a photo or video safely? 

UC Davis Employees - What to Do if a Federal Immigration Agent Contacts You

The following guidelines were provided by UC Davis Campus Counsel:

I am a UC Davis employee, what do I do if a federal immigration agent comes to my workspace with a warrant or subpoena?

  1. Inform the agent that you are not obstructing their process and need to consult with campus counsel because you are not authorized to give consent to access persons or non-public areas of buildings.
  2. Call Campus Counsel at (530) 754-7111.
  3. Ask for the agent’s name, ID number, agency affiliation, and business card.
  4. Ask to take a photo of the warrant or subpoena so you can provide it to campus
    counsel.
