Center Involvement Opportunities

Graduate/Professional Student Fellowship

As a member of the Undocumented Student Resource Center (USRC), the graduate or professional student fellow's portfolio is designed to enhance the graduate student experience by playing a major role in leading our UndocuAdvocate Program for Educators as well as providing support for our center's director in the implementation of our strategic plan to ensure graduate and professional students are adequately represented and included in all aspects of our programming and operations. This opportunity invites graduate and professional students to get involved with our advocacy work while building community and supporting undocumented students in the K-20 pipeline. 

General Qualifications 

  • Must be a returning, registered graduate/professional student Fall 2026 in good academic standing, making progress towards a degree at UC Davis throughout the period of service.
  • In addition to having an AB 540 Exemption, and CADAA on file,  eligible graduate and professional school students should not have an academic appointment during the 26-27 academic year (i.e. Teaching Assistantship, Graduate Student Researcher position, or Graduate Assistantship).
  • Must have current or previous experience working with and advocating for BIPOC, historically excluded, undocumented, and or immigrant communities.
  • Knowledge of regional, system-wide, and UC Davis-specific resources that support all students regardless of immigration status while centering the needs and lived experiences of undocumented and immigrant graduate and professional students.
  • Demonstrated ability  and experience to work well with a diverse group of individuals towards planning and coordinating events/activities with and for college students in the K-20 Pipeline
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills; technological experience using word processing, e-mail communication, and social media outlets.

Community Advocate Internship(s)

The Undocumented Student Resource Center (USRC) Community Advocate (CA) inclusive internship program provides students a unique leadership opportunity to develop and execute programming designed to support, uplift, and affirm undocumented and immigrant student communities at UC Davis. Undocumented students with or without work authorization strongly encouraged to apply. Based on your financial aid budget, we provide up to $7,500 in inclusive internship stipend for community advocates based on 13-15 hours of weekly engagement with the center. 

There are five CA internship roles available to apply for. You will be asked to rank your first and second choice in your application:

  • Campus Advocacy
  • Basic Needs
  • Mental Health/Wellness
  • Outreach and Student Engagement
  • Political Education

Front Desk Scholar Staff

The Undocumented Student Resource Center Front Desk Scholar Staff will provide staffing, administrative, and marketing support to the UC Davis undocumented immigrant community, and more. Under the supervision of the Resource Coordinator, the scholar staff will provide referrals and drop-in support to the community members that visit the center for various needs of support. They serve as representatives promoting the mission of the Undocumented Student Resource Center. Please note this position requires U.S. Work Authorization.
