New Americans Fellowship 2019

The County of Santa Clara Office of Immigrant Relations invites eligible applicants to apply to its New American Fellowship program. Deadline is April 1, 2019.

The Fellowship

 

  • Full-time, 10-week paid internship opportunity during Summer 2019 
  • Fellows work on a research and/or community engagement projects focused on immigrant integration 
  • Fellows are placed at a county agency, department, board office, or participating non-profit organization 

Eligibility Checklist (all must apply)

 

  • Current DACA recipient and, 
  • Employment authorization card and, 
  • Current resident: working living, or attending school in Santa Clara County and, 
  • Can commit to 40 hrs/week and, 
  • Undergraduate, graduate, or recent graduate and, 
  • Desire to be involved in social justice for the immigrant community 

Timeline

 

  • Application Deadline: April 1, 2019 
  • Notification of Selection: May 1, 2019 
  • Fellowship: June 10, 2019 – August 16, 2019 

Benefits

  • Compensation: Paid i nternship, $25 per hour
  • Letter(s) of recommendation
  • Experience working on behalf of county government
